How Can I Help?
For over 67 years, United Service Organizations (USO) have been helping service members and their families whenever and wherever called upon.
USO Georgia is a charter affiliate of the USO World Organization and operates USO facilities in Atlanta (Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport), Warner Robins Air Force Base, Savannah, Georgia and Columbus, Georgia.
The USO Council of Georgia, Inc., served over 350,000 US Military service members and their families in 2007. This service was possible through the help and support of over 1,100 generous volunteers who provided nearly 50,000 hours of assistance and the benevolent donations from individuals, corporations and foundations through direct giving and events such as our annual Charity Golf Tournament.
Due to the very large cadre of individual and group volunteers already in place, some USO of Georgia locations are not in need of additional volunteers at this time. Please call the USO location you are interested in volunteering at to determine if their volunteer needs have been met.
You or your group can "volunteer" your help by providing any of the following needed items for the troops:
- Prepaid global phone cards
- 8 oz. disposable cups for hot and cold drinks
- Plastic forks, knives, and spoons
- Individual packets of sugar, creamer, mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup
- Paper plates (dinner, lunch and dessert size)
- Paper napkins
- Individually packed serving sizes of the following:
- Trail Mix
- Cheese n' Crackers
- Nuts
- Candy
- Cases of individual sized bottled water
Please note that only items on this list are needed and accepted.
Due to "Security Concerns", all items must be scheduled and screened for delivery. Please call your local USO (please see the "Locations" page for phone numbers) to schedule a delivery date.
